Atatürk had a massive impact on Turkey. Without him, Turkey wouldn't be the way it is today. Now Turkey is one of the only democratic Muslim countries. Some historians even say that he was the best leader of the 20th Century. He is by far one of the reasons why Turkey is now a modern and wealthy nation. Although, Atatürk's reforms are wearing off as Turkey is now in a political crisis. People are now separating into two groups and fighting - the secularists and the Islamists. The secularists are the people who believe in Atatürk's principles and the Islamists are the people who don't.
